Every journey begins somewhere.

Sometimes with a first page.

Sometimes with a first photograph.

And sometimes with a simple post saying:

Hello.

Welcome to my website.

My name is Selene Ashcroft — author, biographical writer, photographer, and now someone taking the first steps into building an online presence of her own.

For many years, writing meant telling the stories of others.

I worked mainly in non-fiction and biographical writing, helping to preserve memories, experiences, and lives on paper. It has always been a privilege to listen, write, and give stories a place to live.

Alongside writing, photography has remained another way of seeing and capturing the world — noticing moments, details, places, and quiet things that often pass unnoticed.

But there has always been another dream waiting in the background.

For more than three decades, stories of my own quietly lived in my imagination.

Now, I am finally giving them a voice.

This website is my first small step into sharing that journey publicly — from writing and books to photography, thoughts, projects, and perhaps the occasional behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative process.
